Chiropractic

Stress is the root of many diseases/conditions in the body. When the body is under stress vertebral subluxation can occur. A vertebral subluxation is the movement of the vertebrae in your spinal cord shifting out of position and creating pressure on your spinal nerves. Therefore interrupting proper communication from your brain to other parts of your body. This has been proven to cause many health concerns not only apparent in the physical being, but underlying mental and emotional issues as well. Subluxations can present themselves in the form of back pain, headaches, and muscle spasms. But, have also been linked to insomnia, digestive concerns, and irritability. Regular adjustments from your Chiropractor can help promote and maintain optimal health!

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is defined as the stimulation of specific acupuncture points along the skin of the body involving various methods such as penetration by thin needles or the application of heat, pressure, or laser light. Stimulating specific acupuncture points corrects imbalances in the flow of qi through channels known as meridians. Used mainly as a pain management tool it has also been used to treat a variety of chronic conditions; acupuncture might just be the solution you are looking for. Proven to help maintain and increase overall health, energy, and boost your immune system. Our registered Acupuncturist was trained in Taiwan and has over 20 years experience in treating multiple injury, chronic conditions, postural dysfunctions, pre/postnatal concerns as well as infertility.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a therapeutic method of relieving pain by stimulating predefined pressure points on the feet and hands. This controlled pressure alleviates the source of the discomfort. In the absence of any particular malady or abnormality, reflexology may be as effective for promoting good health and for preventing illness as it may be for relieving symptoms of stress, injury, and illness.

Reflexologists work from maps of predefined pressure points that are located on the hands and feet. These pressurepoints are reputed to connect directly through the nervous system and affect the bodily organs and glands. Thereflexologist manipulates the pressure points according to specific techniques of reflexology therapy. By means of thistouching therapy, any part of the body that is the source of pain, illness, or potential debility can be strengthened throughthe application of pressure at the respective foot or hand location.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage combines relaxing warmth and refreshing coolness to encourage the body to detox and heal. This also increases lymph flow and helps to flush out waste. Heat relaxes your body in a short space of time, so your therapist can focus on a deep working of the tissues using both hot stones and hand strokes.

Hot stones also increase your sense of relaxation and rejuvenation. They can combined with essential oils which help increase relaxation or can help increase therapeutic results and each stone in turn is worked by your therapist's hands.

Hot stone massage can help boost your circulation, release stored tension and recharge your energy levels.

Cupping Massage

Cupping is an ancient Chinese therapy that’s based on the belief that certain health problems can be caused by stagnant blood and a poor energy flow through the body. A therapeutic cupping treatment involves placing suctioned cups on a client's back, neck, and shoulders or the site of pain. This increases the blood flow, loosens the fascia or connective tissue, and is thought to stimulate healing. It is similar to the way deep tissue massage can be used to break up scar tissue and reduce pain. Cupping may cause temporary bruising and soreness, depending upon the degree of suction created by the vacuum and the level of internal stagnation.

Naturopath

Naturopathic medicine is a distinct primary health care system that blends modern scientific knowledge with traditional and natural forms of medicine. It is based on the healing power of nature and it supports and stimulates the body’s ability to heal itself. Naturopathic medicine is the art and science of disease diagnosis, treatment and prevention using natural therapies including: botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, naturopathic manipulation, traditional Chinese medicine, lifestyle counselling and health promotion and disease prevention. Naturopathic medicine involves a functional medicine approach to healthcare, identifying the biochemical and physiological imbalances within the individual, and using natural, scientifically-proven solutions to rectify these imbalances.

Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression therapy is applied with the goal of relieving pain and promoting an optimal healing environment for bulging, degenerating, or herniated discs. It is a type of traction therapy designed to decrease intradiscal pressure to promote retraction or repositioning of herniated or bulging discs; allowing for more efficient and effective healing through an influx of nutritional substance into the disc space.

A single session of a spinal decompression treatment takes approximately thirty minutes. Depending on the table, positioning of the client may vary. Some tables operate with the patient in a supine(face up) position while other tables operate in a pronated potion(patient laying face down). No pain should be occurring during or post treatment. The goal is a spinal stretch causing no discomfort.

Reiki

Reiki is a system of healing that works by simple placement of the hands and the channeling of energy. Reiki is a technique of healing, stress reducing and relaxation that taps into this “life force” energy. The treatment feels like a warm, glowing radiance flowing through and surrounding you. Reiki treats the whole person, including body, emotion, mind and spirit. This is a simple, natural and safe treatment with healing and self-improvement outcomes. Reiki has shown great results with helping anxiety, depression, headaches, insomnia and chronic pain.
